The three prints in this set

The Starry Night: Vincent van Gogh painted The Starry Night in June 1889, from the window of his room at the Saint-Paul-de-Mausole asylum in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence. The village in the foreground does not exist in the real landscape: the painter added it from memory, with a church spire reminiscent of those in his native Holland.

The Great Wave: Katsushika Hokusai created The Great Wave off Kanagawa around 1831, as the opening piece of his series Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji. The print shows three fishing boats caught under a wave whose foam closes like claws, while Fuji, in the distance, remains perfectly calm.

The Kiss: Gustav Klimt painted The Kiss between 1907 and 1908, at the height of his "Golden Phase." The couple kneels at the edge of a flower bed, enveloped in a single garment, yet the patterns separate: black and white rectangles for him, colored circles for her.

Hung side by side, the three prints read as a single piece on the wall.

How much wall space does a 20x28 triptych need?

Three 20-inch-wide prints hung 2 to 3 inches apart cover about 5.5 feet of wall: the width of a sofa or a queen headboard.

Is the set framed?

No: the three prints ship unframed, rolled and protected. 20x28 in (50x70 cm) is a standard size found in most frame shops.
