What do The Lovers, The Chariot and Strength show?

On the left, The Lovers (VI): a red-winged angel in a great sun, above a naked man and woman; behind her the tree of knowledge with its serpent, behind him a tree of flames, and a mountain between them. In the center, The Chariot (VII): an armored charioteer under a starry canopy, standing in a stone chariot drawn by two sphinxes, one black and one white, before a walled city. On the right, Strength (VIII): a woman in a white robe crowned with flowers, the infinity sign above her head, gently holding the jaws of a red lion.

The three cards share the same layout, centered on a cream background, with their number at the top and their name at the bottom.

What does The Chariot tarot card mean?

The Chariot is the card of willpower: momentum, victory and mastery over opposing forces, driven in one direction.

What does Strength tarot card mean?

Strength is the card of quiet courage: gentleness that tames, patience, and self-control rather than brute force.

Where does the Rider-Waite tarot come from?

Published in London in 1909 by Rider, it was drawn by the illustrator Pamela Colman Smith under the direction of Arthur Edward Waite. Its 22 major arcana set the look of the modern tarot.

Is it bad to put tarot cards on your wall?

No: these are 1909 illustrations, hung as art. Some people avoid displaying cards they find dark, others choose them for their meaning of passage and renewal. The set reads from left to right, in the order of the deck.

How much wall space does a 20x28 triptych need?
