"One hand raised to the sky, the other pointing to the ground: the Magician connects celestial forces to earthly matter, a table before him laden with the four symbols of the tarot."

Symbolism and origin of the card

This card is taken from the Rider-Waite-Smith tarot, published in 1909 by Arthur Edward Waite and illustrated by Pamela Colman Smith. It is the most reproduced and studied tarot deck in the world: each card tells a complete scene (unlike the Tarot de Marseille, which is more symbolic and abstract for the minor arcana), which has made it the visual reference for modern tarot reading worldwide.

The infinity symbol (lemniscate) floats above his head: mastery, will, and action. The Magician has all the tools at his disposal (cup, sword, wand, pentacle); it is up to him to wield them. It is the card of initiative, of talent put into action.

What does The Magician card mean?

The Magician represents the ability to transform an idea into concrete reality through will, skill, and readily available resources. It is the card of action and mastered talent.

What format should I choose for this The Magician arcana poster?

This The Magician arcana poster is available in 30 x 40 cm, 40 x 50 cm, and 50 x 70 cm. The 30 x 40 cm size is suitable for a hallway, office, or gallery wall; the 50 x 70 cm size stands alone above a sofa or bed. The frame is not included; the sizes are standard and can be found commercially.

Beautiful images deserve beautiful paper

The paper is an uncoated matte 170 gsm. Its surface stays slightly fibrous, the ink sinks in, the light spreads across it. Colors keep their depth, as on the page of a book.

It is eco-friendly paper from sustainably managed forests, and printed as close to you as possible to shorten transport.

Hanging a piece is not the same as seeing it once. It stays there, you find it again in passing, and the day pauses for a second. It is a moment you give yourself, and offer to those who live with you.
