History of the Work

Branch (1865) is one of William Morris's earliest wallpaper designs. With its fluid composition of white sprigs on a taupe background, it embodies the ideal of the Arts & Crafts movement: natural elegance, sobriety, and a rejection of superfluous ornamentation. A surprisingly modern design that complements contemporary interiors as well as vintage or handcrafted decor.
