History of the artwork

Branch (1865) is one of William Morris's earliest wallpaper designs. With its flowing composition of white branches on a taupe background, it embodies the ideal of the Arts & Crafts movement: natural elegance, simplicity, and a rejection of superfluous ornamentation. A surprisingly modern design, it complements a contemporary interior as well as vintage or artisanal decor.
