The Devil, The Tower and The Star: a set of 3 Rider-Waite tarot card wall art prints, 20x28 in (50x70 cm). Arcana XV · XVI · XVII, which follow one another in the deck, hung in that order: the fall and the hope, from what binds us to the light regained.

What do The Devil, The Tower and The Star show?

On the left, The Devil (XV): a horned creature with bat wings, seated on a pedestal beneath an inverted pentagram, a torch in hand, and at its feet a man and a woman in chains, with horns and tails. In the center, The Tower (XVI): a tall tower struck by lightning on a rock, its crown torn off, flames at the windows and two figures falling through the night. On the right, The Star (XVII): a kneeling woman under a large yellow star and seven white ones, pouring water from two jugs, one into a pool and one onto the land.

The three cards share the same layout, centered on a cream background, with their number at the top and their name at the bottom.

What does The Devil tarot card mean?

The Devil is the card of attachment: temptation, dependence, what binds us, and chains loose enough to slip free of.

What does The Tower tarot card mean?

The Tower is the card of upheaval: what collapses all at once, a sudden revelation, and the ground cleared to rebuild.

What does The Star tarot card mean?

The Star is the card of hope: renewed faith, inspiration and the calm that returns after a trial.

Where does the Rider-Waite tarot come from?

Published in London in 1909 by Rider, it was drawn by the illustrator Pamela Colman Smith under the direction of Arthur Edward Waite. Its 22 major arcana set the look of the modern tarot.

Is it bad to put tarot cards on your wall?

No: these are 1909 illustrations, hung as art. Some people avoid displaying cards they find dark, others choose them for their meaning of passage and renewal. The set reads from left to right, in the order of the deck.

How much wall space does a 20x28 triptych need?

Three 20-inch-wide prints hung 2 to 3 inches apart span about 64 inches: the width of a queen headboard or a sideboard.

Are the prints framed?

No, frames are not included. The prints ship on thick, matte, eco-friendly paper.

A gift for tarot lovers

For a tarot lover or a fan of vintage illustration: the most dramatic passage of the deck, ending on The Star.

Beautiful images deserve beautiful paper

The paper is an uncoated matte 170 gsm. Its surface stays slightly fibrous, the ink sinks in, the light spreads across it. Colors keep their depth, as on the page of a book.

It is eco-friendly paper from sustainably managed forests, and printed as close to you as possible to shorten transport.

Hanging a piece is not the same as seeing it once. It stays there, you find it again in passing, and the day pauses for a second. It is a moment you give yourself, and offer to those who live with you.
