Context of the Work

This print is part of the Thirty-Six Views of Mount Fuji (Fuji Sanjūrokkei) series, one of the great landscape series of the Edo period, where each plate depicts Fuji from a different viewpoint: here, Satta Beach, in Suruga Province.
